Lightning rod shock series or abu vendetta?

I currently fish a 7 ft lightning rod with a quantum accurist 30# power pro braid and im looking into getting another setup like this from you guys, most of the ponds i fish here in NC are loaded with thick grass so i pretty much use braid for worming and jigs. I love my standard berkley lightning its light, sensitive and well balanced this makes me lean toward the shock since it was designed for braid. On the other hand the vendetta looks sweet and i was looking at the 7' 3" MH with moderate action, will the eyes take the braid? or shouod i stick with what i know with the shock? the lightning rod i have is MH moderate standard not a shock series though, I have had this rod for about two months now and put over 40 large mouth in the 3# to 7# range on the bank with no failures what so ever. im just alittle leary of spending an extra 30 bucks on the vendetta if its not going to preform any better than a shock!

I Would Go W/ The Abu Vendetta. And A 7'3 Is A Good All Around Rod.

Thanks thats probably what i will go with i really want that little extra length to, seems every time i go up on rod length i want a bigger one ha ha, i already have like five rods and reels now but a angler can never have to many rods!

I cast my vote for the Vendetta as well. I own six of them (two 6'9" MH, one 7'3" H, two 7'3" MH, 7' MH spinning) and love every single one of them.

If I could change one thing about them, I'd change the decorative cap. As it is, the edge of the cap really digs into your side or your bicep when setting the hook (I have the scar on my arm and scratches on my side to prove it). I tried adding rod wrap but it threw off the balance of the rod, so I bought some "rubber dip" from my local hardware store, color matching of course, and dipped the rod in it and poof...no more cuts or scratches and it didn't throw off the balance of the rod.

All of that said, the only rod I like better is my custom-made ALX cranking rod. I've sold all of my St. Croix rods (that's all I used to use) and I am replacing them with Vendettas. You can't beat the quality of this rod especially when you consider how inexpensive they are.

I can't wait to get my hands on the Veritas when it comes out.

Vendetta out of those 2, but wait another month and get the new Veritas that is coming out from Abu Garcia. Sweet looking white rods.
